![]() This is true, but not to strangers - it was bought out by a regular who’s been playing there for over 15 years, and the existing General Manager who has worked there over twelve years. We try our best to treat everyone fairly, although I would note our doorman of 15+ years has been away, so we will speak with the replacement again. If anyone was let in before you, it could have been the musicians or people that had been on the outdoor tables. Once we’re full, we’re full and we have to operate “one in, one out” (as we always have). We’re operating under difficult conditions and have chosen to keep a 10-20% restriction on our capacity to give everyone more breathing room during COVID. I admit I’m a regular performer at the jams - but for my first ten years I was a regular civilian - in fact it was coming here that made me learn to play and sing! ![]() Do come if you’re happy to stand and jostle with a happy lively crowd enjoying fab music, dancing and drinking into the wee small hours. Don’t expect a comfy seat and a quiet space to chat. ANB is an amazing place to visit for great music and a great vibe. Whenever I’ve witnessed that, I’ve felt that it’s been handled in a fair and professional manner - and I have 30 years experience of running pubs clubs and venues to validate my judgement. What I have seen in a few isolated incidents are a multicultural multiethnic mix of drunk and/or aggressive individuals being thrown out or refused entry. ![]() In fact I’ve only ever experienced a multicultural mix of friendly punters from all over the world, of all ages, united by the love of live music and blues in particular. What nonsense! I’ve been here hundreds of times over two decades and have never seen anything negative towards any ethnicity. Just to add some balance to a few reviews could complaining about a “lack of inclusion”.
